Stamp Project
Please cut the stamps off envelopes you receive in the mail and bring to church. There is a basket to receive them on the back table in the sanctuary. They will be sent to Alliance Stamp Ministry in Fort Myers. The income from selling the stamps goes to prepare, publish and distribute Spanish language Sunday school programs in Latin America for 40 different denominations in 19 countries. The Alliance Stamp Ministry raises over $35,000 yearly from selling the stamps. Thank you, Toni Cina, for heading up this project. Toni says to cut the stamps off the mail, leaving a ¼ to 1/3 inch border.
Dunedin Cares, Inc.
Our church also supports Dunedin Cares, Inc. by donating food and tithe money each month. There are baskets in the lobby and in the fellowship room at church for you to leave donations of packaged and canned groceries. Please bring a donation whenever you attend church. We appreciate Dan Stemmler for delivering our donations to the Food Pantry on a regular basis.
The Food Pantry opened its doors on November 12, 2015. Statistics indicated that even in our delightful city of Dunedin, Florida, there were pockets of people who are “food insecure,” where children go to bed hungry. The first year of opening the pantry confirmed that the statistics are correct.
Since November of 2015 the Food Pantry has registered over 500 clients, representing 3,500 family members, and has distributed 40,000 pounds of food; that’s 20 tons. This would not have been possible without community leaders, civic organizations, businesses, churches, 2,500 volunteer hours and many, many individual citizens.
Dunedin Cares is at 1620 Pinehurst Road behind Faith Lutheran Church. It’s open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, 10 a.m.-noon.
